Messages and calls
Messages and calls use end-to-end encryption. Signal cannot read or listen to them.
Account and service information
Phone-number accounts register with a phone number. Android also offers optional phone-numberless registration through Signal Login, using an Account ID and the associated keys. Available options depend on the current app version. The service also needs essential technical information to operate.
